Paint 'Em Up!

Paint 'Em Up! is an artistic 2D platformer, created from an older original idea with influence from titles of similar genres. N+ is a big influence.

This is a solely developed and designed project.

I wanted to embrace an artistic aesthetic, set within the confines of a canvas. The aim was to create an atmosphere steeped in digital art, artistic style and art room ambiance. Each level has a specific aesthetic, stacked with layers of digital art from foreground to background.

As for concept, the player controls a stick-figure that is trapped within the bounds of a canvas. The player must escape each level through the paint bucket which is activated by a button found throughout the level, while avoiding and dodging enemies and obstacles. The player will also need to race against time, while collecting as many paint balloons as possible that will help and add more time to the clock.
