FNAF: Buried Away follows Ethan Miller, a FNAF YouTuber who sets out to uncover the untold truth behind Fazbear Entertainment. What begins as online research soon turns into real exploration, as Ethan investigates abandoned locations and the legacy left behind by the company.

Through his experience, players step into the world of FNAF from the perspective of an ordinary person trying to make sense of the events that shaped Fazbear’s history.

FNAF: Buried Away takes place in an alternate timeline inspired by the novels and the canonical events of the classic FNAF series. The story incorporates the continuity of FNAF 1 through 4, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, Ultimate Custom Night, and later entries such as Secret of the Mimic.

In this universe, the original FNAF games exist as in-world recreations of real events, and the narrative follows the continuity established by Steel Wool beginning with Help Wanted, presenting a grounded look at life inside the FNAF world.
