What do you think?

This game is actually way deeper than what I thought I was getting into. Great Shogun/Medieval light type game, but don't let the retro graphics fool you. The battles are epic, and having a turn based version scratches an itch I forgot I had. Great game, aside from a few niggling issues with some graphics glitches! 5 of 5.

how to buy soldiers?

this game is actually amazing, i have been playing it a lot

(A review)
Overall rating: 3/5; great concept, not-so-great execution.
Pros: This is sort of an enhanced (but apparently unintentional) remake of the old DOS game, "King Arthur's K.O.R.T." - I like the additions made to that concept, and I'd say the economic/building aspect of the game is it's strongest point. Also, having actual involvement in the battles is a nice change from KAK. It's good to have the potential to mix human players with a variety of AI player types. The AI programming is fairly impressive in both the map part of the game and in the battles. There is a good variety of unit types and strategic options. There's multiple slots for saving games, and the ability to toggle music and full-screen, which is nice. Graphics are fairly good...
Cons: ...but are the graphics original? Also, the music in the game is rather repetitive, and some of the sounds are a bit harsh (peaking). Those are rather minor issues, though, compared to a few bigger problems. In my first two times playing through the game, I ran into 3 major glitches; the first game ended when one of the AI had conquered most of the map and then suddenly stopped responding during its turn. I had to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get it to close. The next game crashed after I surrendered from a battle (to the developer - it may have been because I was attacking from multiple locations?) and then later, when I saved the game after assigning almost all of my armies to attack other counties, I loaded the game (the only way to get back to it after saving, strangely) and found that all of those armies had simply disappeared...well, all but 1 anyway, which battled at one of the counties I was attacking.
As far as gameplay goes, there seems to be almost too many options economically; the game will likely end just as it's getting started in that regard. However, the biggest gameplay issue is one that comes up in many of these games - the ranged units become extremely overpowered in large numbers. Add to that problem the fact that for whatever reason the AI don't tend to get past building barracks and have almost no ranged units of their own, and that they will always retreat as soon as they have 400 losses and have attacked once (meaning that as soon as you have enough archers to inflict 400 losses on their footmen before they get close enough to take a swing, they will necessarily all retreat (die) and kill at most about 10 of your archers - even if they have a horde of troops inches away from obliterating your entire archer army. Perhaps decreasing the range of archers would be a good step in the right direction, as well as working on the retreat calculator. The last thing I'd like to see is some options for auto-movement and/or auto-targeting in the battle itself, above and beyond the so-so "autocalculate" option - which by the way could use a little work, because even if it's 1 foot soldier vs 10 archers, if you autocalculate, the archers will still take some damage, and they never would in the played-out battle.
In summary, it's a game that I want to like to play, but can't quite, because it has a few major flaws that kind of ruin the gameplay. It has great potential, though.

interesting!

Knights of War is a turn-based strategy game set in medieval England. It was influenced by simillar games like Warlords, Shogun Total War and Heroes of Might and Magic. Player can choose between eight lords to play with, each having different bonuses. The main objective of the game is to capture all England's provincies by defeating all of your enemies and therefore to unite all England under your rule. To do this, you will have to develop your economy, build structures, improve technologies, conduct diplomacy and raise strong armies. There are three AI types to choose for your computer opponents. Knight is the weakest AI type, warlord the strongest while lord is somewhere in between those two. There is also hotseat mode which allows two or more players to play on the same device by taking turns playing the game.
