An RTS capable of having HUNDREDS of units running around fighting. Lots of activity collecting resources, building, leveling units up.

Units are blank slates and can do any job. If you start with only a single unit, you can build your way to a complete castle.

The idea is, most RTS games
A) will start having performance issues once a certain number of entities are on
screen, largely due to overloading the graphical engine which is a huge
problem for 3D games dealing with detailed animations
B) have basic unit upgrades
C) have only 1 resource to collect (usually gold) and basic collection methods
D) have small maps, MAX 3 teams because of the map size
E) static bases (even if you an move your base around its limited)

so, Sticks & Stones will
A) focus on simple pixel art so the engine doesn't have any problems and so
there can be hundreds entities
B) have each unit gain experience (mining, gathering, fighting, using magic) and
be able to enhance their tools with magic
C) have multiple resources for different uses (food for units, stone and wood for
tools, weapons, and building forts/castles/camps, magical essence for magicy
things, gold for fancy things)
D) have large maps with many places to collect resources and lots of teams
E) be able to build fully capable bases anywhere on the map
