What is Sci-Jewel?
Sci-Jewel is love letter and spiritual successor to the Bejeweled franchise. It started out as a fan-project, but has since then been reworked and repurposed to be it's own game and has gotten bigger ever since.
The game is being made with the intention of reviving the original formula that the Bejeweled games tried to establish, as well as re-revolutionize the match-3 genre.
What's currently planned?
There are 12 single-player modes and 6 multiplayer modes, 90+ achievements are planned for the game(seen in the Trophies section), over 80 songs within the soundtrack, and so much more!
Who is writing the game's music?
We have multiple people making music for the project.
GameBoy, aka MusicBoy, is one of the main composers, writing most of the music for the game. You'll see him in Strategy Mode, Time Attack, and several other modes.
Théo Bittler is one of the main composers, writing quite a bit of the music for the game. You'll see him in Time Attack Mode, Discovery Mode and a few other areas.
SlinkyCoil is also a main composer, writing music for Score Attack and a few other sections of the game too.
TaylorMinecraftGaming(the lead project director) and Peter Hajba(the original composer for the Bejeweled games) are composers who make a cameo-like appearance in the game, only appearing in Relaxation Mode.
Where can I play this game?
We don't currently have an area where you can play this game, and we don't have an openly playable build yet. Although, you should expect Sci-Jewel to be on most major platforms and their storefronts at (or close to) release.
We will also occasionally release public builds of the game in a similar fashion to our other game, Drag.
When will this game get released?
It's hard to give an exact date, due to game development being a long process and all that. To give an estimate, if development of the game goes well then you'll be seeing a potential 2026 release.
