Team Chadburger here, hi.
We lied about the whole "No more Devlogs until release"- but we can confirm with a good amount of certainty that this will ACTUALLY be the final Devlog before release. We know that we lied, and we do feel bad. But, the time we spent on the game hasn't been without results.
In the months that have passed, we've made a huge amount of changes to the game in the time of the last update- namely a lot of QOL stuff, dialogue rewrites, and just a general final amount of polish before we get this baby out to you guys. Speaking of...
NEW LOGO:
This is our New Logo! With our work on a lot of visual updates, a plethora of assets have been changed up. This includes our logo! We figured it fit a lot more with George and Yu's stylistic identity. As for what the peeling corner means, well... you'll just have to wait and see!
We'll see more of the adjustments to things like the HUD later, but we've got some more exciting examples of our style in full swing, like...
BATTLE REWORKS:
Mechanics from the Persona series return, after a ton of hours spent... We are proud to say that One More is a system in George and Yu, expanding heavily on the existent combat! Upon hitting a Weakness or a Technical, and Downing the enemy you'll get a stylish cutin! And not just that...
Another mechanic, the Baton Pass! It's been a lot of work to implement these both- and we know it'll be a fun time to make the most of them and integrate them into the Combat systems of this game. Additionally, we now have a new command selection wheel, coupled with some snazzy icons! But we're not done yet on visual flair!
All Out Attacks have a new initiation animation to boot! We're really proud of everything included, and we hope it makes combat feel as awesome as it should feel. Beyond this, we've been working on balancing out Personas, Styles, their moves, and touching up Bosses we felt may have been lacking in some regards.
VELVET ROOM:
The Velvet Room's got some functionality to show off! You can now earn Butterfly Tokens to trade in with an attendant for some juicy new moves.
These are earned from completing social links, and with 18 to complete, you'll have plenty of moves to choose from - if you complete them, that is! Be sure to visit the Velvet Room periodically, and cash in some sweet skills!
But that's not all...
Some personalization's been added to the spaces within the Velvet Room! You'll wanna come back to check on how some of your Social Links have been going, and chat with the attendants every so often.
UI:
Seeing is believing. We're overhauling a few of the important aspects of the game to be up to par to our new standards. While we're still touching it up, it's been a hell of a time finally making this game look and feel better. In a lot of subtle aspects, we've just been improving how it all feels. We hope these improve our already swanky game!
VOICE ACTING:
We've been hard at work- and bar a few lines, almost every scene that has voice acting has been implemented! We're waiting on some final few lines from the Voice Actors- but we can confidently say a Beta build with every line in is for sure on it's way for us to finish. From there, we have so little to work on, that a release is inevitably soon- Our last trailer did not specify a release date, and this Devlog will simply keep it to the constraints of This Year, to give us some necessary wiggle room.
With that, however, here's a sneak preview of some voice acting - including a first preview for our Ren and Veteris VA's!
As said before, we'll have a cast list posted with socials and whatnot sorted at release, but our current list isssss...
Milkeano - George Smith
spaceballocksva - Yu Narukami
mia.the_artist - Minako Arisato/Aigis
Turgize - Nevil Mishima
Gray - Ren Amamiya
minkydinks - Veteris

ONE LAST MESSAGE:
George & Yu is, essentially, done. Has been content-wise since September, but we've added and polished so much that we're happy we took this extra time to work on the game. The game feels SUPER good, and we're excited for you guys to play it!
In terms of tone, don't expect anything too serious. Even in our story's most serious of moments, I can confirm the most obnoxious of MP4 files are played, the stalest of jokes are recycled, and the most agonising of musical compositions are played. (That last part's a lie. Our music team is awesome.)
We're finishing up a few rewrites, which will, in turn, probably cause some rerewrites, which- you get it. Trust the process.
In all truth, we're nearly there, though. For real this time. And with that...
See you guys at release!
