coding is weird.

good news: mouse-based control of in-game pause menu (as was my plan) works

[???] news: mouse control somehow got programmed upside down. it's inverted. is this error even worth fixing? these are questions i'm thinking on.

main menu controls work now. work on the new game start of setting the factions properties can begin now. after that, i can plug that info into the world generation, and we're off into gameplay.
