Devlog 02: "Candy Corn and New Levels"

Greetings, everybody!

We're almost at 40 views on the project -- wow! Thank you guys so much for checking it out so early in the development, I really appreciate you guys. It's so motivating to hop on and see the numbers go up, please stick around!

We got a good amount of work done in the past two days since the last devlog, so here's some in-game screenshots and some explanations:

While this is a placeholder graphic for the KNOCKOUT! screen, I got the run over system down. Now the game is a functioning permadeath run-based experience. Neat!

Candy Corn is a valuable resource in Hallow's Eve. Every enemy you slay gives one or two, and a boss gives 5. Think of this as a valuable currency that never goes away. It can be used to buy cosmetics -- and maybe permanent stat boosters? That's a iffy idea but it may reward more playtime with easier subsequent runs.

Here's a relatively cheap cosmetic you can buy from the Candy Corn shoppe -- a catcher skin for the slugger! It's a simple yet fun design that adds a little more customization to the characters. I wanna drop the game with about 4-5 skins per class -- more on that next week -- and have them range from 20 to 100 Candy Corn each.

The Haunted Graveyard is getting more detail by the day. The Pumpkin Patch is pretty much done so I'm adding details and new and interesting sights to the graveyard -- such as the tower obelisk monument. Also, you can see me being attacked by a bat as I try to get the screenshot.

Also, I drew up a new boss for the Haunted Graveyard:

The groom! A devilishly dashing ghoul buried in his finest wedding apparel... Maybe his tuxedo could be a skin, who knows?

That's it for now, see ya!
