Dungeon Mercenary's new version (July 6th): achievements and bombs throwing

I’ve released an update of Dungeon Mercenary. In short, the two best things:

  • Achievements! Integrated with GameJolt of course :-)

  • Bombs can now be thrown. Yep this does combine well with dashing :-) Prepare yourself to kill fierce monsters by blowing them up!

Details are listed below. Happy dungeon crawling! Long life to ASCII art and ❤ to you all.

New features

  • Achievements! There are 15 achievements for now (see the achievements screen):

    • Chuck Norris

    • Gimli

    • Frodo

    • Permanently Telepathic

    • Dwarf Door Knock

    • Reach depth 2 … Reach depth 10

Achievements are available on the following platforms:

    • Desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux)

    • Web on GameJolt

When playing on GameJolt (be it the desktop version or the browser one), achievements are reported to your account; that is, they are fully integrated with GameJolt’s interface!I’m intentionally not explaining how to achieve the achievements. For some of them, it’s obvious, for the others you’ll have to find by yourself :-)

  • Bombs can now be thrown (as shown in this video). When you throw a bomb, it explodes immediately (contrary to activating it and dropping it on the floor).

  • The dagger’s special attack may trigger the vampirism runic (if any).

Bug fixes

  • Web version on GameJolt wasn’t receiving keyboard events. It was only possible to play with the mouse. Doh :-( This bug was actually corrected on June 28th.

  • Cursed items cannot be dropped anymore.

Pixel Card Wars: new cards: spells and items

I'm adding skills as reward for beating dungeons #roguelike #indiedev #gamedev#screenshotsaturday #codesource. That’s part of the progression of the player, together with better items. There's a lot of them but it's quite easy to implement.
