EXTREMELY IMPORTANT UPDATE PLEASE READ

It has come to my attention that Unity, the engine Acceleroll is made on, has a severe engine-level exploit. It is an RCE exploit which means an attacker can remotely execute code on your machine.

However, Unity thankfully has provided a patch. And today I published a patch for all versions of Acceleroll (Windows 1.0.0/2.0.0 and macOS 0.2.0). The safe versions going forward are:

Windows: 1.0.1 and 2.0.1

macOS: 0.2.1

Q: Is my machine in danger?

A: As far as we know, no attacker has used this exploit, it was discovered by a security researcher. However, now the exploit is known and will likely be used. So I highly advise deleting the previous version of Acceleroll and downloading the new hotfix. Acceleroll also makes registry changes with it's saving system, these should be safe, however if you are still worried, when you download the hotfix, you can go to options and clear your save data. This removes every trace of it. Make sure you update as soon as possible, unlike platforms like Steam I can't push an update to all users, you have to take responsibility to update it.

Q: Is this an issue with just Acceleroll or is it all Unity games?

A: All Unity games after 2017 are affected, developers must take responsibility to update their games. This unfortunately was out of my control, as it's engine level. I can't promise the safety of other games currently, however the new Acceleroll hotfix is almost certainly safe.

Q: What platforms are affected?

A: Primarily macOS, Windows, Linux, and Android. WebGL and console platforms should be okay. My other game Trail & Trade should still be safe to play as it's WebGL. macOS and Windows do provide security features to prevent this but I can't make any promises that your OS will keep it safe.

Q: I want to read more about the exploit where can I find it?

A: Technical information is available here, although it mostly applies to developers not players:

Stay safe everyone, and keep enjoying Acceleroll with the new hotfix.

Been working more on my dark fantasy archery prototype. I created this target class in which I can invoke any sequence of methods I want. So I made a target in a tower that lifts a magic seal on the big gate. Thoughts on an exploration archery game?

Physics based first person archery system in Unity. Includes time slow and recognition for different target types. Excuse poor audio quality, my screen recording software seems to be bugging out. #Unity #Unity3D #Archery #3D #GameDev

Clickity Clack. I love the sound these make. I set it up so every ball collision makes this noise so you get all these super clacky sounds and I love it.

Target is getting a minor addition, multipliers! They multiply your score. And yes it is cumulative (all by x2), so a multiplier 4 * this powerup would be 8, thus leading to an x8 score (if you can land safely).

It's here! The largest update yet. Includes 8 ball pool, fishing, a sandbox mode, and a hard mode! (+ Many fixes and QOL) Patch notes below.

Huge progress 🎯! The target minigame touch up is nearly complete. I basically coded the entire thing from scratch. It's really fun now! This is how I wanted it in the game jam but time made it difficult.

Had one of my weirdest 2AM ideas last night. I took my minigolf game and combined it with spherical gravity/planets. The end result is absurd. I had to redo a lot of code but worth it. #GameDev #Minigolf #3D #AntiGravity #GravityMechanic #Unity #Unity3D

Minigolf prototype I cooked up in a few hours. It has support for cutscenes, moving platforms, persistent scores, hole changing, and visual transitions!

I love it!
