Fangame idea! FNAF World in FNAF 4

I think it would be fun (render by Fool_Joystick)!


The FNAF 2 in SL game is amazing! I love it! The remade office, the remade animatronics... everything falls right into place!

This made me realize the potential even a simple swap like this has, and so I started thinking: what could look good in another style, something that I haven't really seen before? And I thought for a while, and something came to mind: Scrap Mediocre Melodies what if we gave FNaF World some more love?

And it turns out that this might not be so bad after all. Not at all. Isn't that right, Chris?

The main gameplay loop (part 1)

Now, it might be weird to place this before the story. But I wanna stress a fact: this plays like FNaF 4. It won't reinvent the genre, nor should it. This is a reinterpretation of FNaF 4 with the FNaF World lens. So if you recognize a lot of the mechanics, it's because they are supposed to be similar.

Part 1 will focus on the loop that requires zero story knowledge. This is the most important part.

Let's start with the room:

  • You are in your bedroom. There are four different places to explore: a closet (in front of you), a door leading to a corridor (to your left), your bed (behind you) and a window (to your right)

  • The room is pitch black, due to the curtains and location of your house. You are in the woods, ground level. Not a lot of light passes here. You keep a flashlight with you for this reason

  • Toys and plushies are scattered in the room, wherever you look

  • You are alone. Crying won't make your parents come back to you

And now... let's talk about mechanics!

  • Nightmare DeeDee: acts as Nightmare Bonnie. Tries to approach you from the door. Use a flashlight to scare her when far enough away. Use it when she's close... and you'll meet an unfortunate demise

  • Nightmare Brow Boy: acts as Nightmare Chica. Tries to get into your room from the window. His size is his most intimidating aspect. Flash your light in the woods to scare him off when far enough. Flash it in his eyes when he's close and you'll be squashed to death by his enormous hands

  • Nightmare Mendo: acts as Nightmare Foxy. There are various little blue robot toy parts scattered in the room. They will try to come together. Shine the flashlight on them to stop them from assembling. If they do, they'll enter the closet. Once in the closet, the toy will start becoming the nightmare, just like the Foxy plush did. It is also evolving in phases: phase 1 is the toy, phase 2 is standing, phase 3 is crouching, phase 4 is about to exit. After that, you get unscrewed

  • Nightmaredude: nightmare version of Animdude, acts as Nightmare Freddy. On your bed, some plushies may appear. In order, those plushies are: Bounceweed, White Rabbit and Tangle. Use the flashlight to bring them back under the bed: should you fail, you'll soon be meeting your creator

But, just as FNAF 2 in SL wasn't exactly FNAF 2, here is the proposed minor change I would make to the game:

  • Second chance (applicable to Nightmare DeeDee and Nightmare Brow Boy): should you fail to deter these animatronics but you are still in your room, choosing where to go next, the animatronics will start attacking you. Nightmare DeeDee will use the cap to slash the door and Nightmare Brow Boy will crash the window with his fist. Use the flashlight on them now to deter them.

    • Second chance gets activated by making them go away like this. If successful, you might still save your run. However, the attacking animatronic will now be more hostile during the course of the night: you've become weak, vulnerable. They know this. This might give you the time to finish the night, however

    • If you run away from the center of the room to any other part, Second chance does not get activated and you get immediately jumpscared instead

The proposed story

This little kid here is Chris. Hello, Chris! Chris loves space! You're gonna play as him! Aren't you lucky?

Chris is a little child who has made a very, very grave mistake.

He accidentally pushed mom down the stairs.

Dad was never right in his mind.

He rushed her to the hospital.

But she didn't make it.

But now... now he's coming back home.

It's time for Chris to suffer the consequences of his actions.

Dad will make sure of it.

Isn't that right, Chris?

The main gameplay loop (part 2)

Noticed how we're still missing our Nightmare Fredbear here? Of course we are!

  • Consequences: the Nightmare version of Old Man Consequences. This is Dad. This is what the kid sees as Dad. Dad, for Night 5, has come back home. He wants you to join mom on her Happiest Day.

    • He works like all the Nightmares combined... exactly like Nightmare Fredbear. He will try to approach you from both door and window. He will occasionally spawn his head on the bed or in the closet: you have to scare it off. There are no differences between he and Nightmare Fredbear in terms of main gamplay loop

    • He's very aggressive. Since this is a more real nightmare, he will be the only animatronic roaming the house tonight

    • Upon completing the night, you will get inevitably jumpscared by him ripping the door open with a kick and approaching you

The mini-games

  • Fun with Endoplush (REWORKED): this is exactly like "Fun with Plushtrap", except you are now in a kitchen and Endoplush is hiding in the furniture (pantry and such). Should give it its own spin and make it refreshing to play

  • The end-of-night ones: these tell the story I explained above:

    • Night 1 just sees the kid in the kitchen, grabbing something to eat. He is afraid to go out. He keeps an Old Man Consequences plush near him at all times (replaces Fredbear plush). "3 days until the reunion"

    • Night 2 sees the kid in grief while grabbing food. He laments how none of this is really his fault. But in the end, "tomorrow is another day", as the plushie reminds him. "2 days until the reunion"

    • Night 3 sees the kid panic as he realized food is gone. He starts asking frantic questions like: "Would mom would have wanted this for me?", "Why is dad not home yet?", "Why hasn't he called?", "I'm scared.", with the plushie trying to reassure him. It's still not clear what's going to happen, but you can start to guess. You are afraid. Afraid of what, exactly? "1 day until the reunion"

    • Night 4 sees another kind of cutscene. A car drives close (you can only hear this). A car door is shut. And a door is unlocked. Dad is back. You see a FNaC 3 type of cutscene with Consequences, with sentences like "Do you realize what you've done?", "The pain you have caused yourself.. and have caused to me.", "What kind of a son kills his own mother?", "The world isn't right in its mind to leave you be [face reveal]. So it's time you face the consequences of your own actions.", "It's time to go back to sleep. Forever." "0 days until the reunion"

    • Night 5 sees you going to mom once more. Finally. You are back with the one that loved you most today. The plushie you kept of Old Man Consequences gets left behind and starts to fade away. It's all over now. You are safe in Heaven
