For day 896 of coding, I have found out the tree top sprite didn't change due to how it was drawn via the draw_sprite_ext function. With that fixed I can work on completing the animation

For day 1079 of coding, I have altered some of the conditions for the text display in order to ensure the display works at select areas

For day 1082 of coding; I attempted to alter the conditions to stop the endless title fade, but no real progress yet

For day 1078 of coding, I fixed the room check so that it would not crash the game this time

For day 1073 of coding, I had the box's width adjust to the text's width. I will later need to make sure the text doesn't just disappear when exiting the room with it still present
