Immortal Chronicles - Alpha

Here we have the first set of character animations which you know what that means time for the first actually update. I will make a huge post when the update fully comes out, but note it won't be a pre alpha and it will be actually labeled alpha.


Well what do you know we got our first batch of main character animations are done. Note we are improving a couple them in some areas still, but with this done we can finally add our character to the game and start off the actually alpha. Up till now we been having a old version of the project on gamejolt. With the new art comes time to release the first official alpha build. I will be making another post later when it fully comes out, but here I want to say a little bit of it.

With the actually character art done aka we found an artist who can deliver we can move forward at a nice pace. So the new update comes out.

With it comes with quite a bit which will be in it's own post because it is a massive change. Menus, inventory, equipment, stats, save systems, and much more.

We will also release a video actually decreeing what the game will be and what combat will be like among other things. Basically the first actually show of what we want to make.

I will make after releasing the first update to show what we are going to be working on next. Hint spells, monsters, and an entire town to get quests from, but more details later. Hope you enjoy the update coming soon.

Next up

Here are some more NPC art. Next week we will have the character art for the town people started. One of these animations is just for small detail when entering the library randomly. Would be boring if every character only had one type of idle animation.

We wanted some of the walls in our game to be broken and crumbled. Not all of them being the same look so we also made tiles for broken walls where we can mix and match the tiles to make an unlimited amount of designs.

Just a little teaser of wip art for the upcoming library area. Going to have a new background made so the contrast looks better, but for now I am enjoying it. Do note will be uploading a gif within next couple days so you can see the animated objects.

While working on the first full Alpha build, I decided to start adding a little bit of NPC dialogue and other stuff to start making the game feel somewhat alive during the early alpha stages.

Started on the interior for the tavern. The tavern will be where you get quests and can gather information from NPC you made friends of. The tavern NPCs are just stock placeholder art for now and will be replaced later with more custom art.

Added a small box with the speakers name in it, so players can see who is speaking. Going to start showing off some smaller work in progress stuff starting now up to the first alpha. Each post will be focusing on one change for the first alpha.

Working on some level design prototyping for some of the underground areas. Wanted to just share some things I am testing. Mainly having waterfalls as a background element for the caverns.

Work in progress knight attack. We are aiming to get out first three monsters made so you got a variety of monster to fight in the demo.

We got our new throne for the save rooms in the works. Hope you guys enjoy sitting on your new demonic throne every time you need to save. We are making animations for the character sitting on the throne soon. Hope you guys enjoy the upcoming update.
