Next up

Worked on some new set dressing / story assets for DIRE. Really refining that second level to get it polished up. Still a few more props and elements to go before I'll be 100% happy.

New screenshot of the final level!

Some more props for the next level. Next week I will be focusing on mechanics so I might not have a screenshot, enjoy this one!

I was able to get a ton of development done this month. Second weapon mod is in, enemy shot indicator is in, first player mod is in, refined the level layout a bit. Now time to spend doing some art for the next month.

Worked through these little dudes as my enemies. Still need to work on gibs and the shot effects but I'm pretty happy with how these turned out. I also messed up my lighting, so I need to fix that. Feels good to be back at it!

Finished the wave system and some early weapon fx. Almost ready with enough stuff to start passing out a early demo for some feeback!

I wanted to try something with the textures. I'm a huge fan of old school 90s shooters sort of grungy pixelated textures. So I wanted to try and capture that but still have some color and pop into it.

Got some more environmental art in, also got a blaster model in the game too. Next step is cleaning up the base level textures then a few more props. Still have a few nights in October to work on environmental art!

Slowly working through the environment art for the 3rd level. It's taking a bit longer than I thought.

This power up will increase the amount of fire power the player is capable of having. Since the core concept for the game is to keep the player moving around the map to collect resources each power up only grants a limited boost and decreases over time.
