Overall...
I actually prefer the rework, I think it add a lot more strategy to the game as well as feeling less generic.
You may also notice I've changed the aesthetic of the cards to more resemble tarot cards
New Features
The combat now using a grid system to place cards and attack enemies. The grid will only display the usuable side to make it clear what characters can interact with.
Shielding
If a unit is placed infront of another, it now shields them from attacks. This makes card placements more important to consider as well as open the door for more challenging enemy encounters (akin to the testudo formation)
In the example provided, the player cannot attack the Shellotape as it is hidden behind the Bubble Bat
Classes
Some classes have unique grid relatable abilities. For examples Flight enemies cannot be protected but can also hit protected enemies (because they are flying)
In the example above, Dreamer is attacked by the Bubble Bat; which the other enemies can't
Kraos
I have yet to introduce the final core party member for Episode 1 and they will play a very minor part in the demo. However I want to add them as an unlockable card at the end of the demo.
I plan for Kraos to have the ability "Demon Dealing" (name in progress) a move which convinces any other unit to move/swap positions on the grid. However if that unit is under the Heavy class it will be unable to move.
