It's a Cube

I've updated the UI and HUD in It's a Cube! I think the HUD especially looks a lot nicer now, and I'm especially proud of that, but I've also made changes to the main menu. I've also finished the statistics screen I was working on last weekend.

The updated UI can be seen in version 1.5.0:

Changelog:

All versions:

- Overhauled the UI and HUD

- Added player statistics screen showing your high-score and milestones reached (accessable from the main menu)

- Added in-game milestones corresponding with the trophies on the Game Jolt version

- Many technical changes/improvements as always

Game Jolt version only:

- If you reach a new high-score while not signed in, your score in the leaderboard will be updated when you next sign in. This also has the unintentional effect of automatically setting a players high-score in the leaderboard if they switch from the Itch version to the Game Jolt version.

I'm working on adding full controller support to It's a Cube! I'm also taking the time to update the art for the in-game tutorial page, I'm planning to add a tab for controller too. In the meantime, how does the keyboard tutorial look?

I've been working on the sprite for the beetle shell power-up drop! I'm thinking when you collect this one, it will kind of poof away similarly to the enemies when they're defeated and play an "equip" sound.

Many Improvements to the main menu, and I added a floor texture and improved the level behind the cube!

After 7 long years, the wait is finally over. Chapters 1-4 of DELTARUNE are out now!

Celebrate the parallel story to Undertale by completing these quests.

I updated the algorithm that handles the timer gradually decreasing as the game progresses! Before, it would decrease by 1 second when the player scored certain amounts, but now it gradually decreases according to a multiplier each round.

Let Them Come: Onslaught by @Tuataragames has come to Game Jolt!

I've more or less finished off the beetle enemy's animations now. Here's a short video showing the defeat animation as well as how it currently looks in-game. I still need to work on an effect for when the shield breaks, though.

Okay, so I've gotten the functionality for the beetle shell render over the player working! (using the first 3 frames from the beetle shell collect animation as placeholder sprites, these ARE NOT the final sprites)

The Button Effect – @Frycandle 's minimalist first-person puzzler inspired by The Witness, The Talos Principle and The Beginner's Guide, is coming to Steam!

I DID end up making the body and elytra both 1 cycle/s and the wings 6 cycles/s. I'm working on a video of the animation itself playing in the Unity editor so you guys can see it properly. I think it turned out well!
