Important Poll: Sidequest Payout


So I may have finally figured out a method to get the payouts to work properly. Since I am decisively indecisive, it is time for the polling.

Option 1: Original Layout

When cashing in with the NPC, it will remain on the NPC chat frame for the entire duration. The completion dialogue will display alongside a new "victory" screen popup. This new popup will look and act the same as the one featured in battle, albeit accounting for powerups and items. It will also give a bit better context as to when the player can exit.

Option 2: Transfer to Battle

When cashing in with the NPC, it will start on the NPC chat frame and later move over to the battle frame. The completion dialogue will display alongside a new button. Pressing this button will send the player to battle against a low health "enemy" what will award the goods upon defeat.

Next up

Still deciding if it's worth committing to a full rebuild, but I at least figured out a better way to handle the party swapping mechanic.

This whole "making a new battle frame" situation does give me an excuse to add some things I had been putting off for far too long.

Yeah, we're doing this.

So, Plan B: The remainder of tonight will run V1 of a solo OCN mode, with an updated version coming tomorrow during the end of the con.

(And a further refined public release of this later on. If there's interest.)

I know it's completely unintentional, but I swear this is the universe trying to convince me to dig my old handiwork out of retirement and do something with him.

I think I know what needs to be done to shake up XL's next public appearance...

While I chip away at the code for XL, I might as well show off the fruits of another thing I had tinkered with: modding custom music into Bionicle Heroes.

Suppose it was about time that some of these skills got a little extra kick.

New project is having a fun, early outing.
