Important Poll: Skill Button Redesign, Part 2

(And a small WIP preview)

Okay, so figured I'd check if anyone really cares about the accuracy of the text displayed on the buttons.

(And figuring out how much of a time sink this rework will actually be.)

---

Option 1: Have the text not baked into the button render

While it would be slightly less accurate with shading, it would also be easier for me to punch in the text via the event editor. It would also require only about 180 re-rendered frames to get the buttons ready to go.

Option 2: Bake text into button render

I would need time to workshop the accuracy of the text and it's shadow, and I would also need to account for (at least) 1,560 frames.

(And because MMD is a cruel mistress, each one would have to be rendered out one at a time.)

---

Anyways, currently fighting some general burnout to try and get back into getting something done. Still working on making the button more accurate, but the asymmetry is not doing my OCD and novice modeling skills any favors.

Not gonna try to rush this next update, so a last minute 2024 build is not likely to occur.

'Till next time.

Turns out what the game actually needed was for me to take a proper break from development and enough time to realize what I had broken.

(It was the values tied to IDing what foe it'd be.)

It'll likely need more testing, but we're back in buisiness!

Not quite the fix I've been talking about for the past few weeks, but it's at least progress.

Motivation has returned in a substantial enough way.

First signs of danger.

Pretty safe to say that Possy will be increasing the price of costumes to compensate for this recent development.

Still have to address a few tweaks to layering and test some other sidequests, but I think that we're back on track again.

Suppose it was about time that some of these skills got a little extra kick.

Yeah, we're doing this.

Save file stuff (sidequests, maps and "autosaving") might currently be a troublesome mess, but at least development on OCN is going pretty smooth.

It's been a long time coming...
