Introduction: Harry McDummy (NPC)


I may introduce several characters in this DevLog, one at the time.

Harry McDummy has the dubious honor to be first.

  • Trademark: | His front teeth and his ridiculously large “viking” helmet.

Harry is an NPC who makes his introduction during Jake’s prologue mission.
Harry is Jake’s childhood friend, but friendship became rivalry when Jake and Harry went into training to become warriors. Unlike Jake Harry had not a single talent required to be a warrior. Harry did want to be better than Jake, but failed miserably all the time. He failed his warrior exam so many times the exam takers lost track of counting. Never did he want to listen to Jake, or anyone else of that matter, to try a different job.

Harry came in as every RPG game needs an annoying character who keeps on coming back (yeah, this game does parody RPG clichés every now and then). Harry fulfils that role brilliantly, when he finds out Jake has fallen in love with Marrilona. Harry hopes to score to expose Jake as a traitor. Still this pathetic wisecracker does prove his worth a few times in the game, without him even realising it.

I think I really need to redo that hat in the Dutch dress-up, as I think that's downright terrible, but at least you have a bit of a feeling what the language section screen in the new version will look like. (EDIT: I did a second attempt. Better?)
