Happy (belated) New Year, adventurers!
It's been a while! As often happens, the creative juices dried up, and I took a bit of a hiatus. (Part of it is also worrying about the current map. It's kind of an important one, and I worry about being unable to make it interesting/fun... just overthinking stuff!)
Anyway, I'm back to working on the game this year, and while I haven't done all that much yet, what I have done includes probably the most important addition: Fully rebindable keys!
I don't expect I'll add this to the previous games, or earlier demos of this one, but it feels so relieving to have it done. I feel it was the main negative point of this game.
Anyway, here's a rough idea of some of what I've been up to since mid-2024. Most of this done this year though.
JUL 2024-FEB 2025
Current Map: 5 of 10 (23/?? sectors done)
- FINALLY IMPLEMENTED FULL KEY REBINDING! (video)
- Began implementing lore pages for bestiary entries. (video)
- Implemented a bunch of statistics tracked throughout the game, viewable on main menu.
- Worked on current map.
- Made 2 new enemies.
- Added more convenient way to track current arrows on HUD.
- Added indicators to purchase windows, for quickly seeing if you have enough money/ore/etc.
- Did a polishing sweep of all the previous maps, tidying up inconsistent stuff and things.
- Added some new things to earlier maps.
Current progress estimate: 50%
Hopefully see you in another couple months or so for another devlog, if I manage to keep up development now.
