I just wanted to let you know that I'm still hard at work! :) I'm not giving up on this game whatsoever.
As you can maybe see from the attached screenshot, I have redone and streamlined the SSBF shader. How does it look? I'm thinking of trying to tone down Metal reflections however.
In terms of gameplay, I have Smash attacks almost back up to speed again (although sometimes I get dashing or walking when trying to Smash Forward, and Smash Down sometimes gets stuck in the charging phase. Tilts are also MUCH more responsive than before. With my old system I had to press A once or twice to make it come out. Now it's instantaneous as it should be! Turning doesn't work yet, however. I am working on a solution as we speak.
I've also fixed a majorly annoying bug where braking didn't stop the fighter correctly. Now I just have to apply it to Dash start and crouch.
I've also worked some more to make AnimCMD more frame-independent using coroutines. Results are now much more consistent all around. I only have frame stutter to account for, as well as lag when certain objects come into view. Right now AnimCMD has a little bug when Mario does his Side Taunt: Cappy's eyes' materials cause a little bit of lag, and AnimCMD has a hard time catching up.
Finally, you guys as excited as I am for tomorrow's Nint*ndo Diorect? I sure am! What do you hope will be shown?
