Vernacular is a game by Da Neel on Game Jolt. It is short, strange and captivating. In the game you are presented with 20 Polaroid photographs filled with puzzles or sinister imagery, sometimes both.

The game is full of polish and atmosphere. Much more than you think a handful of Polaroids could ever have. The puzzles and contents of the pictures are eerie and often gross. It really works for the game though, adding to the tension you feel as you scan over the pictures.

Vernacular is short. You can easily beat it in about five minutes. So set aside some time and play this strange game. You won’t regret it.

Then, once you finish, go play the rest of Da Neel’s games.
