Hey all!
First off, let's get this out of the way:
The Showtime Build will be ready to release on July 6th.
Still needs work before it drops.
Now that the biggest question is answered, I can address some of the stuff that will be added this update, specifically...
Q1: What even is Showtime?
On the flipside, Showtime was a big deal. The highlight of any party was seeing the band perform a live show.
In Animatronica, it takes on a whole new meaning.
Upon use, this new skill allows your active party to use a set of all-out attacks, using amped up skills that will absolutely devastate the enemy team and/or give your team a second wind.
The characters on your team will determine which skills are used, though right now only three are active in-game:
Pizza Party: Summons a massive pizza that will drop hot cheese as it goes along. It will drop more cheese the moment it hits an enemy.
Cupquake: Summons a massive cupcake will slam down on top of the enemy team, dealing damage while also healing your team.
The Bite: Summons a "slightly" upscaled recreation of a springlock suit, which includes real springlock failing action.
More of these Showtime skills will be added at a later date.
(If I try and add them all now, this update will take much longer to get out.)
Q2: How can I tell who has what?
Once unlocked, a new icon will be present in Party Select to give indication. Hover the mouse over the icon for a description.
(Might also add the icons and description to the battle frame if needed.)
Q3: How do I get this?
Perhaps by pure coincidence, a new animatronic recently got pulled into the overworld. He might be familiar to some, though most probably will be blissfully unaware of his origins.
You can find Max (and his accompanying shop, Max's Salvaged Goods) in the northern section of Choppy's Woods.
You can buy this item (as well as another brand new item) for a reasonable sum of tokens and coins.
Once you have Showtime unlocked, it'll need to charge to full power before it can be used. It will automatically charge in the overworld at a slow rate (roughly 1 point/minute) and slightly faster in battle (1 point/second), but the fastest way to build charge is to use player skills; each one adding 5 points per use (not counting mimic ball's skill use or any chip based skill).
Oh, and I might've forgotten to mention the best part: these use a special skill level system of their own!
Each Showtime skill cast uses the combined levels of all 8 party members, and each living member will add their own respective skill onto the onslaught.
Speaking of party members, I should probably mention that there's a few more additions to the roster in this update.
How many?
All the remaining members of the original Update 1 cast!
Aside from the thrill of finding new characters in the new locations, this should provide plenty of variety to party creation. (Especially with features like the randomize party button, or even the upcoming [REDACTED] .)
And for the final thing to show off today, it's finally time to finish something I started way too early in development.
Here's the winners of the first ever costume contest!
Special thanks to KingWonkyBunny and AlbiSwitz for participating!
(P.S. Check your DMs on DA if you haven't already.)
These costumes will be included in the next update, so get ready for some fancy fighting!
Well, that's about it for this update. Expect more very soon.
'Till next time!
