The secrets of Dyrt .NET project has now officially come to an end. Of course, the true bug-test is when a game meets the player, so now the "praying" nothing spectacular goes wrong has begun for me.
The game comes in three packages, you'll need only one of them to get things up and running.
The normal package which is just a 7z file with the game in it. Client users should also opt for this one or the No-Music package. You should make sure .NET 4.8 has been installed. Without it the game will not run. Not by manual install, and not through the client either.
The No-Music package is the same as the normal package, but stripped of the background music. This will damper the experience of playing Dyrt a bit, but if you have a poor internet connection, low bandwidth or very little storage capacity, this will at least allow you to play the game. Of course here too you must make sure yourself that .NET 4.8 has been installed.
Installer package will deliver a full installer. You should NEVER go for this option if you are using the client. The client is pretty much allergic to full installers. The Installer will by the way install .NET 4.8 automatically if it isn't yet present on your system.
Of course (but that should normally not be an issue), the game also requires DirectX to run.
A few notes if you played the original Dyrt game:
The story line has most of all been kept the same. Only a very few modifications have been made. Most of them merely spelling/grammar errors that were missed in the release of the original game.
The gameplay however has met many modifications, and as a result savegames of the original game are in no way compatible at all with the new version.
Unlike the original game, this game only accepts the mouse as input device. Click and click away, folks!
Rebecca's "Haggle" ability was replaced by "Scare". Rebecca can now (providing you found enough traveler's emblems) scare the enemy away meaning you won't get encounters in that area.
There's a flexible level cap now. So no more pointless grinding. Get exploring in stead!
Most dungeons have been redesigned from scratch... Only a few were directly copied from the original into the name game.
The UI has been replaced with a UI in the same style as my other RPG games on Game Jolt and other sites.
Well, that's all, folks!
Have fun....
And should you still find any bugs or other undesirable behavior from the game, please, don't hesitate to report them on my issue-tracker.
P.S. Players of the earlier beta-versions may have seen the game crashes when calling the Jukebox TWICE from the main menu. This has been fixed.
