Today, I’ve got exciting news! As promised, it’s the 20th of January, and therefor I’ll release a (semi-)public alpha of Checkmate!

What is (and why) semi-public?
GameJolt marks the download as a ‘Private’ build, but I do reference to it as ‘Public’. I do, because you actually need a key, which you can activate through your GameJolt account, allowing you to play Checkmate until the end of days.
However, keys are practically infinite and there are no real requirements for getting one; So therefor, it’s a “semi-public” release. It’s not private, nor public - Just someting in between. :)
How to get keyz?!?!

You need to activate them by going to: http://www.gamejolt.com/claim/PASTECODEHERE
Once there, just click the “Claim” button and you’ll have Checkmate in your library now.
Keys ran out? Check out other social media of mine (Twitter & IndieDB) to see if there are some new keys. I’ll try to release them in batches as slots get filled to keep things manageable. :)
Updates & stuff
I’ll be updating the alpha version as soon as any bugs / glitches are found, however, I won’t be pushing the release a whole lot. This, because the current version is an installer for the game, and you don’t want to be installing the game over and over again - It just gets tedious and annoying after a while.
I’ll also post a new “devlog” once I’ve made some updates.
