Wonder crops - How big is too big? (expand)

Still hard at work on the farming system. The game at least has time and the inventory all working so it will be easy to hook everything together. But thats not what this post is about!

Wonder crops

one of the things I've been wanting to do is make the farming system more fun and introduce a few new mechanics, hence Wonder crops.

Wonder crops are grown over a 3x3 set of dirt tiles on the farm and require far more care to maintain and grow. They need to be heavily watered. fetilised and kept free of weeds. Their seeds cannot be bought in-game. instead you will need to find someone around town and befriend them to learn the secrets of these mega veggies and how an ordinary bag of seeds can be used to plant them. Wonder crops are worth more than the total price of 9 of their basic version and will yield a generous amount of seeds if you wish to use them and not sell them.

Our latest efforts have been rewriting our scene change code and with that comes some lovely transitions made using a greyscale image and a new shader.

Finally, you can sell the fruits/veg of your labour. :)

The red sock continues his wandering of the multiverse for an object of great power. Taking on a fellow traveller on his way.

Tall walls are all modeled and intergrated into the engine and work seamlessly with the previous two wall styles. actual wall skins for this set are incoming. A new test build featuring these changes will follow up soon.

I know it has been a while since the last update, but life got in the way. Here we can see how buttons can be customized and given functionality through the event system. More to come as the event system grows.

Wall height is being adjusted to accommodate things such as stages and lighting while also giving animatronics more breathing space.

Light menu is still undergoing it's refit, some behind the scenes code changes making it easier to edit multiple lights. A light will also toggle on/off depending on its intensity. So custom events don't need to be loaded with two different commands.

Finally, I've had some time to do some more work on the recode. There is hardly anything to see except for this utilitarian clock which can be swapped to 12 and 24 hours in settings. The lighting again changes through the day too.

Character bits! We're currently throwing together the character animation pieces for the new customization system :P
