What do you think?

Really love how this looks so far, the Frutiger Aero theme is nice to look at, it reminds me of old Playrix games back in like 2014 (Specifically Fishdom)

I'll be checking it out once it comes out in November, excited to play this! ^^

Very promising!

The whole thing just brings a peaceful vibe.
Definitely coming back when it releases in November!

Main Theme

FinLab is a pet simulator merged with a tycoon game. Manage an ecosystem of fictional fish species ranging from fruit themed fish to undead skeleton fish. Discovery is key. Uncover many different fish species all with their own behaviors and needs.

As a tank owner, your goal is to keep your fish as satisfied and as happy as possible, and sell them back for a profit. Alongside this, you can also unlock many different decoration items and themes to design your own personal tank.

It's your tank, your way. Discover this ecosystem of unique and bizarre fish species in a Frutiger Aero themed world. Be creative, be strategic, be evil, be good, no one can decide except you.

New in the Time & Temp update (1.1.0):

  • Breeding - If your tank is not max population and you have 2 of the same species in the tank, there is an uncommon chance of an egg being bred

  • Eggs - Eggs live in your tank or in storage, if they're in the tank they will eventually hatch with updated genetics. The environment the tank is in affects the genetics of the egg.

  • Genetics - Each species has a base parent gene, hatching an egg appends the last parent gene. You can change temps, water type, markings on the fish, and more. Your egg may lean towards these factors or generate an aversion

  • Time of day, weather, seasons - Each season contains holidays, a forecast, and weather which affects temps and adds new visuals. Days and years are tracked.

  • Holidays - On holidays passive buffs will be applied including egg rates, sale price, stock, and unlocks

  • Tank Temperature - Your tank has a temp that is changeable, but will slowly return back to the environmental neutral which is measured by season + weather. Fish have desired temperatures now (which can be bred out)

Working on a breeding mechanic. You might be able to breed egg specific mutations that can benefit or harm your fish. Some are visual only such as markings on the fish, but other factors are things such as social level, rarity, required water and temps.

Sorry for the spam lol but one more thing, snow visuals are improved. Including a slight frosted glass effect and way more dense snow. Winters are very snowy in FinLab! Snowstorms can last days.

🧪Testing a new feature, tank temps! Fish now have a desired temp range. This is user controlled but a) the more extreme the more expensive the daily bill is, and b) it will slowly drift to the environmental neutral (affected by season and weather).

After getting some feedback, I have done some tweaking to the camera. And I added a slider to control the move speed. I've also lowered the values even more. This will be in the Time & Temp update.

What's a good time system without a weather system as a companion?

🧪I am testing the concept of time and a more uncertain market. Non-free fish have fixed stock every day, and the market becomes more saturated when you output fish during the day (per species).

Small announcement:

I loved this project so much that I'm immediately going into post 1.0 content. It will be a free update in a short while. It's WIP name is the "Time & Temp" update, it's going to edit the core loop a bit and increase simulation depth.

Patch 1.0.2

Fixed:

- Can no longer zoom when hovering over the build items

- A bug with a hidden secret causing duplicate unlocked decor

- Camera movement speed has been slowed a bit

Changes:

- Notif UIs have a unique icon/color per unlock type

Patch 1.0.1 (Day 1)

The following bugs have been fixed:

- A specific decor's hint being labelled incorrectly

- Better bounding/collision on header buttons in the menu view

Notice: There is a visual bug on one of the decor items, where it says it unlocks at tank level 20 but this is not the case. It's simply displaying the wrong requirement, this is unlockable and 100% completion is possible. I'll fix this soon.
