Your take on the LTSB story reminds me of LTSB V1 and V2 story, since Malrat originally intended LTSB to be a sequel in V1-V2, but it became a prequel later on, in V3 (final ver.)

The action unfolds after the events of Treasure Island 2020. When Jake was escaping from Treasure Island, he came across a huge building, when he went there and walked through a couple of rooms, he found Abandoned Mascot Prep, where he saw a familiar character. It was Abandoned Photo-Negative Mickey Mouse. When Jake tried to leave the room, the door closed behind him and he heard the phrase from behind.. "Hey! Wanna See My Head Come Off?" Jake turned around. And he saw how the Photo-Negative Mickey Mouse tore off head and holds it in his arms. Then he lost consciousness and woke up already in the Office.
