Hey I actually did a review of this on my channel! it was really interesting! its a solid piece of work with a good foundation to be a really cool game!
Some things that really stood out to me where the hand drawn character busts and changing expressions during miles talking, and the objective menu with added side quests the player can do! you used a lot of the original resource tilesets that come with the program, it works really well with the story!
A few minor things that I noticed was in the opening monologue with miles telling us about himself with the backdrop of the city -- I felt it was a bit long, and could have used a little more visual. for example, when mentioning the messy room, maybe seeing a photo of his room with all the books piled up! something to really break away from the static background and add feel to miles a bit more.
although the menu screen layout was great, there is a lot of green, it was a tad distracting and drowned out the plain white text.
the only other thing I would recommend is the map sizes and shapes a bit. the areas like the dorm room seems a bit larger and boxier than what a typical dorm room would look like. adding some dimension and making the rooms a bit smaller would add a depth of realism and help the player feel more immersed!
all in all a VERY impressive start! good job! I look forward to seeing your progress!
hey, I respect the effort you put into creating an entire game of your own with your own characters. It takes lots of dedication to pull something like this off, and to be brave enough to use your own characters, that you drew yourself is no laughing matter. Keep it up, and don't forget to have fun with it
