Controls:

  • Arrow keys Move player

  • Z Attack with a sword (if you have one)

  • X Shoot an arrow with a bow (if you have one)

  • Enter Pause/unpause game

Warning:

You cannot save your progress in this game. It takes about 15-30 minutes to beat the whole game, so I didn't find it necessary. It's just good to know.

Supported browsers:

Chrome, Opera & Firefox. Edge & Safari not officially supported.

I'm not sure if the audio works on Chrome after version 71, but we'll see.

Story:

A thousand years ago, Dr. Dankworth created this mysterious island, and now she demands breakfast.

Description:

Breakfast for Doctor Dankworth is a "Zelda-like", an action-adventure game where you explore a small island and find new items that will let you go places you couldn't get before. You also fight enemies and do that kind of stuff.

The game was written in TypeScript without any additional Html5 libraries, just pure canvas rendering functionality.

Version 0.9.1 released. It's a minor bug fix patch that fixed the following bugs:

- You can no longer collect items that are "diagonally" close to you.
- Now you cannot get stuck on the right side of the map if you go there before learning to swim

Version 0.9.0 released. It can be played through, but might be a little buggy.

This is what I did today (picture from Tiled). It still needs to be tested, though.

My deadline is next Monday, so two days should be enough time to finish this. There are a few bugs to be fixed, but they are not necessary.

The final boss...?

Now I just ave to add the ending, then I can finally starting working on the actual game map. I don't want to do the final battle & ending last, so I decided to implement them now.

I also added audio, but more about it later (maybe).

I almost forgot to implement death. Well, here it is.
