The Game:
CHax 2 is a physics and scripting sandbox game. It is very similar to GMod or Garry's Mod but has it's major differences. It is not a clone, or a port, it is an original game. This game will allow you to create your own behavior and control the objects in the game. You can also import your own objects and behavior scripts.
Our Story:
CHax was an unexpected trend-setter. After development of CHax stopped, there was a lot of new games popping up with a similar basis. CHax was originally programmed by Caleb Roberts and was published by In-D Gaming. After 3 years of inactivity, Caleb Zepeda of In-D Gaming finally stepped in to rewrite the game from scratch. This is because the game reached 100,000 downloads and over 3,000 people still have the game downloaded! The original game gets comments on a weekly basis, either asking about development, or criticizing it's lack of development.
Our Goal:
We want to create CHax with the original plan intended. This means we are trying really hard to see what Caleb Roberts was trying to accomplish. What we are doing differently however is working on getting the features most wanted by the users. This means in the alpha stages of development we are working on adding nice visuals, sound, network multiplayer, and even VR Support! We want to have a very extensive modding system that allows users to import their own models and scripts. We are even thinking of implementing a drag-n-drop scripting system in-game to easily add behavior to in-game props.
