Empire's Horror: Masquerade of the Dead is a story-driven card detective game featuring turn-based combat and RPG elements.

THE STORY

Take on the role of private investigator Matvey Serebryakov or the femme fatale thief Vera Koltsova. Immerse yourself in the investigation of Count Volkonsky's mysterious death, where every step could be your last.

GAMEPLAY

• Explore: Enter the eerily quiet offices of the Vestnik. Search for clues, collect combat cards, and gather consumables.

• Fight: Defeat your enemies in tactical card battles.

• Scenes & Intrigue Decks: Advance the plot turn by turn, but watch the Chaos Limit. Once filled, Intrigue cards will unleash paranoia, mystical visions, and lethal threats upon you.

• Skill Checks & Contacts: Dice determine the outcome of your actions, while a Contact card is drawn at the end of each turn. Randomized events make every playthrough unique.

• Characters: Two playable characters, each with their own unique decks and traits.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This is a prototype created for the Gaminator 28 game jam (2nd place winner)​, featuring the first scenario of the campaign.​ Version 1.3 features reworked balance, QoL, new event cards, and full localization.
