Expanze Online is an online RPG game set in a world 44 years after a massive outbreak of a mutated strain of influenza A-N7H9.
44 Years ago a child was infected with both H5N1 and N7H1, H5N1 is highly susceptible to mutation and this resulted in a mutated Influenza stain later known as A-N7H9. A-N7H9 infects mostly through fluids, but it is also airborne, one sneeze or one cough could infect the whole room. A-N7H9 causes internal bleeding and multi-organ failure in it's victims. A-N7H9 has a incubation period of 3-4weeks, the host is infectious during the incubation period, making it a stealthy killer. A-N7H9 brings a mortality rate of 90% to the table.
While the mutated strain of influenza raged havoc across many countries, medical professionals claimed that this could not be a natural mutation of the virus and counties started to blame each other for being responsible behind the release of a weaponized bioweapon.
This ultimately lead to a nuclear war between the superpowers in the world. Now the world faced both an unstoppable epidemic and a nuclear war sending the world into a deep apocalyptic era.
Governments around the world fell one by one, some fled underground into massive survival shelters, others, to sea on massive ships. But many of the average citizen was left to them selves.
