Prologue
Back then, during 'ye olden times' of this world, there was a ruler who assumed dictatorial powers and reigned above the many realms. The ruler abused these powers like there was no tomorrow, unsuspecting of the following consequences soon to come. In an act of retaliation, the realms united four elemental wizards to create an item that would rid the world of the dictator. The wizards combined Earth, Water, Thunder and Fire and created the Chaos Relic. Using the relic, the wizards confronted the tyrant ruler and ceased them out of the world forevermore.
As described by the wizards, "The Chaos Relic is not a weapon to be used whenever one desires. It is a puissant work of our studies that shall only be used in dire times like right now, and shan't have its powers abused. Otherwise, chaos would ensue within a matter of seconds, hence its name." To avoid abuse of the relic, the wizards split it into the Chaos Fragments, and hid them throughout the lands in fitting places. Years later, however, another ruler would assume dictatorial powers to some degree…
It is now modern day, and it has been a millennium since the creation of the Chaos Relic. There is now a new ruler throughout the realms, who is the Twilight Empress. She has prejudice towards the magically fond, her reasons being: they're physically weak, have bad social skills, and for some reason think riddles are hilarious. Of course, there are more reasons, but those are the main ones. Her first move as ruler was the proclamation of some anti-wizard laws, otherwise known as taking most of their rights away. Most wizards went into hiding to avoid consequences, while one lil' wisp was oblivious of the new laws.
Weeks after proclamation, one day, the wisp wizard went to their local bochord to try and publish a recipe once only known to their bloodline. The librarian, however, rejected their publication request, and explained why he did so. After hearing about the new laws, the wisp declared the Twilight Empress a tyrant, and swore to show her that all classes are made equal and shall be treated as such. "Well good luck with that," the librarian comments, "for her majesty ain't no pushover. Wearing the crown of which she named her title after, she wields the power of both Light and Dark. Although, there is one thing that could perhaps help you in your quest: the legendary Chaos Relic. You'll need to locate the four elemental fragments first so you can then forge them back into the relic. Fortunately for you, I have this neat lil' map you could use to find the Wizards' Sanctum. There, you can uncover the fragments’ locations." The librarian then lends the wisp the map, and they then embark on their daring quest of Chaos…
