What do you think?

Nice artstyle.

Love the music and graphics. Here is a gameplay video of your game (unfortunately I got stuck at the beginning and couldn't play much):

The game looks really, great. I want to play it, i am gonna test it in some days

Overall a great demo! It might help to slow the movement speed a bit because the current speed makes platforming a bit tedious. It might also help to add hotkeys to the inventory slots because right now in combat you have to divert all of your attention to move the mouse to the item you want to use. These are just suggestions so do with them as you please. But other than that the game feels smooth, the pixel art is beautiful, and the concept is great!

What is Relevance?

lummis_title_card_pose.png

Relevance is a short 2D pixelated action adventure I developed solo in Unreal Engine.

Explore and fight your way through a seamlessly connected map, confronting difficult enemies while searching for meaning in a ruined land.

This project was built to explore seamless world design in an action adventure with light metroidvania elements. It is inspired by classic action platformers like Castlevania.

A knight no more...

Lummis was once a spellknight from a distant, magical kingdom. Unfortunate events led the kingdom to its demise. She never understood how she survived, perhaps fate, or bad luck. She wandered the lands aimlessly, surrendering to despair and a meaningless life. Until one day, an old man, wise and bearded, approached her to tell her a story...

"There is a rumor, young one... In the far away sky lands there is something that can restore what you have lost... or give you a new purpose... Take this orb, and carry on with your quest. Find... your Relevance..."

Now armed with a mysterious orb, Lummis sets out with newfound purpose to find answers.

I thought I posted this here-

I'm working on a new version of the Relevance demo, scheduled to release next month. There's a lot I'm changing and adding to make it a better experience overall. Specially the sound design. Look forward to it!

The Relevance Demo 2.0 is finally out! I managed to sit down and wait patiently for GameJolt. So if you've been wanting to try it out with a controller, it's your lucky day!

Aside from many bug fixes I implemented controller support. Bring that feedback!

Hopefully around midnight today I'll start uploading the latest version of the Relevance Demo, finally!

This means that by tomorrow all of you who are following the game should be able to tackle those bosses with a gamepad! Thank you for your patience!🙌

I'm currently waiting for my wifi to stabilize, because boy, has it sucked this week.

I want to upload the newest version of the Relevance Demo already! RD 2.0.0 has some big changes, and there's also controller support! I'ven't been gone for nothing!

I have finally been blessed. Somebody went through the trouble and now the Relevance Demo is out for MacOS!

So Mac users, give it a download if you want to check it out!

Note: I can't test the demo myself as I don't own a Mac. All feedback appreciated 🙏
