What do you think?

Kayde, i don't think that the latest version is working properly - when i open it up it just endlessly loads in on the "Beneath by Kayde" screen with the funny face in the bottom left corner...

This is the Beyond the Sea update, but now with full colour. The game will be GBC format now, hooray! Not all areas are a different pallete, going to the Black Keep will show off the colour switches. Happy exploring!

Beneath - Wild Update

Today is a historic day, the first official full release of Beneath. New area, new secrets, 6 endings, and shitty pixel sprites. For a first game I think I did okay. Combat and more still coming soon, as soon as Ive figured it out. Now, never before seen, a web version is included. Github will be in a devlog when Ive made it .

Finished the swamp area and added music, Ive gotten a bit better at composing it with the built in tools. I also did a full sweep and squashed some bugs.

New version, free of bugs with a new secret area and ending. New name too, and an unfinished swamp area. Itll be the entrance for the underwater biome later on, but I want to figure out battle segments before I do another full scale update. Ill probably make a github or a mega folder for the assets in case anyone wants to dick around, probably some polish and bug fixes tomorrow.

Underneath 1.4

First version Im actually proud of, technically its a complete game with 4 endings- but its still mostly a walking simulator. Im figuring out combat and menus, so expect more development- but hey, its technically a game!

Much bigger update, lots of stuff is fixed including collisions. Im still figuring out the music, its still basic bleeps and bloops. Ill add more stuff to do soon, things like battles and a proper save system- but for now Im proud its at least functional. Theres a false ending included, I just wanted to mess around a little bit- more updates soon. USE AN EXTERNAL EMULATOR (BizHawk is what I use for testing), the gamejolt built in one doesn't run the game very well.

VERY VERY VERY Early build, just the .gbc for archive purposes. Hitboxes are fucky, some stuff is broken, sound is trash, this isn't really meant to be a proper game. 3 Scenes and a hidden fourth.

Welcome to the World Beneath. You find yourself in a clearing after falling for longer then you can remember, and now its up to you to wander around and find your true ending.

This is my first ever game, like ever. Ive planned them out (RIP to cabinet man and abyssal terror lol) and even done artwork but never actually built the game, and now with the power of GB Studio Ive made this hot mess a reality. Combat and more features will be added, but for now- enjoy. And thanks for playing my game :>

Special thanks to my Dad and Brother for playing first and helping me out, love you guys to bits.

Big things are happening!

Beneath is Halted (for now)

New update today, just some more color switches. I think Im putting the game to full GBC now, just gotta test everything once more and then Ill upload the new build.

Releasing the first color build of the game, itll be under a seperate package. If my testers and you guys like it, Ill keep it!
If not, we'll go back to just gameboy palletes. Ill probably try different color schemes until I find a good one.
