A small update on whats been going on:

Over the last few months I've been primarily focused on fully fleshing out existing content, before adding too much to the final area. Although some developers prefer to do this the other way round, I prefer to have all aspects in place prior to setting up a new region. All that being said, here's a brief summary of what's been going on;

Redesign of the game icon set. The majority of icons are now made by myself to better fit the art style I'm aiming for, as well as the items available to player.

Overhaul of the 'notebook' aspect. You can now better track quests, game lore and general information.

Lore/Story has been expanded upon. This will be a core area of focus in the near future as areas are fleshed out further.

Implemented a skill shop to the game. Since this game does not rely on magic as a primary source of healing or damage from the player, you can now purchase useful skills from the 'Arach Guild' members, who can be found throughout the lands.

Fixed a bunch of display issues, incorrect shadows, incorrect shadow placements etc. Added various checks throughout so that progression is more controlled and logical.

On map weather affects that transition smoothly and logically based on your location on the world map.

Achievements in the game have also been adjusted and will continue to change as time goes on. Some of these will have rewards attached to them. Some achievements are hidden.

Overall, the game is presently in a much more 'fleshed' out state. The majority of existing areas can be classed as feature complete at this stage.

At this point, I'm fairly confident in updating the version to 0.8 Alpha and hope to have a 1.0 Beta version (fully complete game), by the end of the next year.

Thanks all

-Mike

Adjust your journey into Timeland and make things a little easier or perhaps, a little harder for yourself with the 1.0.1 update for Another Realm.

Additionally, some minor fixes were also included and a Story Mode adjustment at the Scorched Tower.

If you like standing around in games idling, Jimmy will have something to say about that now.

Enjoy watching Jimmy complain about not doing anything with multiple different idle messages.

If you have ideas for funny idle events, let me know!

The game preview trailer is now live!

Steam are also now reviewing the game for public release.

Be sure to Wishlist on Steam if you're interested in the game! It's been quite a journey, thank you to all who got involved with the development process!

Madeline is the main protagonist of the mountain climbing platformer, Celeste. The game has been praised for its visuals, gameplay, and introspective narrative. The game's creator Maddy Thorson confirmed that Madeline is trans in 2020.

The full game is now released and is available to purchase on Gamejolt, Itch and of course, Steam.

Revisited the Old Ruins spot from the beginning of the game. I wanted a way to effectively show you're entering the interior of somewhere, whilst also blocking it all off from the outside. A little refinement possibly needed, but I feel this works well.

This video demonstrates the snowboarding chase section some more with the mechanics of it. You can avoid the snow chaser entirely, reaching the bottom of the slopes for the main battle. Or, defeat it multiple times on the way down for an easier battle.

Dive into the cozy post-apocalyptic open world of Critter Cove!

Gentleman Rat Studios (@GR-Rob ) describe it as “a little bit Animal Crossing, a little bit Stardew Valley. Maybe even a little bit Windwaker, too."

Another revisit of one of the more original sections, this one being the underground passage to the Monument of Govel. For some reason the video amplifies the smoke effect, it is less obstructive in reality.
