Howdy everyone. You’ve all been pretty patient, haven’t you?
We’ve seen some of the frustration that after… what has it been, nearly two or three years now, there still isn’t a demo.
We’re pleased to announce that the end is actually in sight.
We don’t have a hard release date, but Aftertale is aiming to launch its demo in the next four months.
I wanted to use this post to talk about delays and expectations and communicate to our loyal fans and friends here about Aftertale’s demo release.
Firstly, for the past year, Aftertale has been worked on as a college final delivery. In order to continue working on the game, we allowed members of our staff to use the game as part of their final delivery to finish out college. This came with a lot of set backs, including writing 200 something page documents detailing the contents and design concepts behind Aftertale.
Needless to say, that has been immensely taxing and deeply informative.
Here are some cool fliers we got to make as a result of that.
If you can’t read them, don’t worry, we have close up shots at the bottom of this post.
Several systems were overhauled over the past year and we’re hoping to release a demo which is distinctly Undertale, but brand new and exciting to play.
That said, the length of the demo is still expected to last players around 30-40 minutes depending on play skill, and an additional 30 minutes on recursive playthrough.
Secondly, our goal with this project is to… Well, live a dream. And you guys are helping us make that come true. We just want to release a video game that we made, and we really hope that you’ll all like it.
With good reception, we will strongly consider finishing the entire Aftertale fangame. If not however, please stay with our team in the future as we venture into creating new IPs.
I think that’s all we really wanted to say. We just wanted to remind you that we’re still here and still working as hard as ever. Please look forward to our fifth and final Dev Diary update coming sometime soon.
Thanks for staying with us, and until next time, do your best!
