Howdy. There was a sudden buzz of activity here, judging by the emails I've been getting about various commenters asking the age old question of "how am download this?"

I think December of 2018 was the last time we were actively curating our social media feeds, so there is always a lot of speculation about whether or not Aftertale is dead.

Every so often I have to come in here in a suit made entirely out of socks and roll around until all the cob webs are gone, and remind people that Aftertale is still being developed.

Those who've been with us recently and read some of our posts might recall why the game has been taking a while.

To summarize for folks who aren't familiar, the would-be writer of Aftertale couldn't do a good write, and it was making designing the game a constantly evolving task.

It's hard to make game design decisions like "so what does this button do?" when no one actually knows what the button is supposed to do.

Anyway, this seems like a good chance to set expectations. Despite the massive amount of work being poured into this, it's still a two person project and we're only aiming to release a demo. The demo is only a slice of the full story.

There are no formal plans for a full Aftertale game at this time.

Putting it that way, you can think of the Aftertale demo as a culmination of two very committed game developers trying to refine their skills like shonen anime protagonists.

Except that one of us has been stuck in a training arc for the past two years.

We're of course very much grateful that people are waiting anxiously for Aftertale. It's more than our humble project deserves, frankly.
