“And look what fate has brought us to. Now, will you pay responsibility?”

A vengeful man has hijacked this year-end special, and it's for no good reason...

The reason why Viktor wants to sabotage the contest is because of supposed revenge. He lost his chance of experiencing a regular childhood due to the corporation which serves as the main sponsor of the show, got made fun of because of his strange horns and cultural norms, to the point he becomes nearly totally alone in life. The contest in the past was his last beacon of hope to be seen and heard, however after being kicked out due to a rumour started by a staff member and seeing his planet getting destroyed entirely after trying to get back home, he spirals into despair and swears total destruction towards the corporation, as well as devastation towards the industry.

He hasn't done as much sabotage and damage to the contest before, hence this is considered his biggest plan in his revenge goal. The goal is to interfere the signal of the contest and destroy the source of protection in the Starvester Arena, eliminate all of the high-ranking members of the broadcasting department and tells the general public the truth behind every lies the industry told them about. Of course this won't really go as smoothly as Mizal is also unexpectedly chasing him.

Note that Mizal didn't know about the damaged air protection system as he was outside of the arena stage and remains in the station hallway.

First thing to make sure people watching outside of the arena didn't know his plans is to cut off the broadcast via the main networks. He killed off some of the staff so they can't interfere, leaving himself and the buttons he use to turn off the signal bloody. The broadcasting hijack Viktor planned in this sabotage doesn't distract the people with what's going on but rather leaves them with confusion as with what happened with the broadcast. Since the core network of the live broadcasting is the first one to get cut, the rest of the broadcasters from different planets follows all simultaneously, some earlier or later depending on their technological developments. This is so that the general public who aren't in the Arena can't find out what's actually behind the error screen. They'll assume there's an error with the system on when the participants perform, something like an emergency maintenance, or calling a back-up host due to an emergency that causes one of the initial host to not be able to be with the contest that night. He also set up a system where all of the attempts to broadcast what's going on there in-universe to fail, rendering visual depictions of the incident as nearly impossible.

A lot of communications (mostly those used for broadcasts) with the networks outside of the arena is unavailable due to the wave system, although some of them are still secured and used for in-arena emergency (they still can't reach outside of the station). Moving to the next plan...

With the possibilities of hard light and advanced tech research, he use those to fire something and shatter the dome roof which allows everyone to stay grounded inside the arena. With that, several people starts to float and those who realized it starts panicking. They do not know what happened that cause the incident neither they know who's responsible for all of the incidents happening. The security instructs them to evacuate the place and stay in a safer area of the space station part, as they're trying to investigate the case.

And as Viktor is ready to continue his hunt, he realizes the man in red he saw before is already here. What will happen then?

Side Notes: At the top left screen among the seven screens, you can see a glimpse of his past self before his descent to villainy. This is the full image if you want:

I try not to make him too different from the present but also not too similar. This is just the first depictions and a bit incomplete, maybe his full past design will be revealed in the future...

Oh, and also the close-up, unfiltered version of the view of the arena.

Final artwork for 2025! I will take a break from now, but it won't be too long. This is so that I can prioritise giving some time to myself and my written stories (especially Hibiscus Kirmizi) in early 2026. This is also to allow myself complete important stuff (like redesigning characters) in time. I hope you have a good year and let's hope that 2026 will be okay. Too many concerning news to think about it.

Most of the artwork takes 3 hours, maybe additional minutes considering the details on the background. But it's not too long, plus I added more effort to make it completed as soon as possible.

Again, thank you for all the support and I wish you a happy New year! See you there!
