@gamejolt , a large number of users, aside form larger groups and companies, no longer display the verification badge. Seemingly out of nowhere.

This could be a bug, or a prematurely added change.

Whatever the case I suggest you address it immediately.


If you are planning on replacing user verification with Game Jolt creator (which I think is plausible), I think that's a bad call for a few reasons.

  1. Not everyone wants to be a creator, some people just wanna be verified. Some people can't even get creator for whatever reason, such as an inability to receive money, but they still wanna be verified.

  2. Speaking of massive influxes, it would be a lot of new applications to go through, and people might be impatient.

  3. Verification is important to prevent impersonation. It's not just a little badge of honor. Impersonation has been a real problem on this site lately and I think it's important to try to protect against it wherever we can.

If you're looking to give individual users, staff, and companies, unique verification badges, I think that sounds like a great idea! ^.^

But just so you know it's bugged out and a bunch of people are freaking out cuz they all lost their badges, except you and companies. Sooooo again, address it quickly.

I'm going to @ a few staff members as well so hopefully this gets in the right hands as quickly as possible. @CROS @thoro
