Dead Alone - Beta 1.1.0 is available now !


Hey everyone !

I haven’t had much time to work on the game the past few month but i’m finally back today with a new update !

This small update mainly brings new weapons and various changes for many gameplay elements.

During the next few months, I will release smaller but more frequent updates as we progress torward the final release of the game so except more frequent news !

Anyway, let’s check out the cool new stuff included in this update !


Content:

  • Special Weapons

    The big part of this update is the rework and reintroduction of special weapons ! Special weapons are the best guns you can get in Dead Alone, in addition to their solid base stats, they offer 3 tiers of abilities that you can choose from. Those abilities need to be unlocked by playing with the weapon and doing some challenges In the Survival Gamemode, you can find one special weapon in each bunker captured. In the Horde Gamemode, you will have a random chance of seeing a special weapons available to buy in the shop for 4500 GP !

    This update will include 2 special weapons with two more to come in a future update, let’s check them out:

    • Minigun

      The Minigun is a very powerful crowd control weapon that can deal major damages in a very short amount of time, you just need to make sure you have enough ammunition supplies !

      Here are the 6 special abilities that you will be able to choose from once you unlock each tier:

      The Minigun can be unlocked in sector 1’s bunker.

    • M110A2: Dragonfire

      The M110A2: Dragonfire is a powerful sniper that can one shot almost anything and be very good to take down some ennemies before they get too close !

      Here are the 6 special abilities that you will be able to choose from once you unlock each tier:

      The M110A2: Dragonfire can be unlocked in sector 2’s bunker.

  • Fast Travel

    The map system now include the ability to fast travel to any captured control point !

  • Weapons statistics

    Because it’s always cool to see your accuracy, the amount of ennemies you killed with this sick minigun or even the heads youv’e destroyed, weapons will now track gameplay statistics such as damages, ennemies killed, headshots and more ! Those statistics can be seen in the weapons list menu accesible through a workbench

Changes:

  • Reworked zombie spawning system to reduce instances of zombies spawning “out of bounds”, in case zombies still spawn on invalid locations, they will now respawn automatically instead of locking the gameplay

  • When dying or loading a save in which the capture of a control point was active, the game will now restart at the last incomplete wave instead of restarting all the waves of the said control point

  • Various quality of life changes to UIs including a global redesign of the main hud

  • Updated the way combat zones limits are handled to allow for more freedom

  • The game will now auto save at some important events (new sector unlocked, control point secured, etc), auto saves still trigger each 5 minutes if none of these event occur (auto saves must still be enabled in the settings for this to be active)

  • Global ground loot spawn rebalance

  • Various optimizations, mostly related to night-time lighting and particles

  • Play time will now be saved and displayed for each save file

  • Updated various UI icons

  • Various updates to the map system

  • Reworked the way dispersion and recoil is calculated to better reflect the player movement

  • The lighting transition when entering bunker is now more progressive


Fixes:

As always, this update also brings a lot of fixes here are just the most notable.

  • Fixed an issue that caused headshots to not be properly registered in some instances

  • Fixed some issues that caused the loading of a save to be longer than it should be

  • Fixed an issue that caused bulk crafting to not work properly on projectiles

  • Fixed an issue that caused some unlocked sector doors to still be closed after loading a save

  • Fixed some issues with saves thumbnail not being properly captured

  • Fixed an issue that caused the rarity and max amount of the shield to not be properly updated on the HUD

  • Fixed various issues causing save games to not properly load the correct gamemode

  • Fixed some issues that caused the pause and death menus to not be displayed properly

  • Fixed various issues with the death menu and respawn system inlcuding an issue that could cause the player to die instantly after respawning

  • Fixed various issues with supply chests not giving the correct loot

  • Fixed an issue that caused zombies to not be able to enter in bunkers

  • Fixed multiple issues with the map system

  • Fixed various typos

  • Fixed various audio issues
