Endoskeleton's Debauchery Quest: Silver Repolished + Endoskeleton's Debauchery Quest: R Revival

Hey all, it’s been a while hasn’t it? In fact, as of today it’s been exactly 10 years since the release of EDQ’s final update: Silver. Since then we’ve made attempts to bring back EDQ in some way, namely through the remake EDQR and Judgement Day as an April Fools joke, but they never really stuck. Well, in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary (we’re 5 months late for the real one but shh) Fang and I are proud to announce a brand new update to the game: Endoskeleton’s Debauchery Quest: Silver Repolished which is available now! But that’s not all, as the remake, Endoskeleton’s Debauchery Quest: R has also resumed development!

Endoskeleton’s Debauchery Quest: Silver Repolished

Repolished is an overhaul update to EDQ: Silver that aims to make the game a much smoother experience for the player while keeping true to the original, kind of terrible vision. As such, the update is largely a gameplay overhaul fixing a lot of the major balance issues that the game suffered from. There are some changes made to dialogue to improve continuity and flow, but overall it is still the same badly written dialogue from 2015. Patch notes detailing the numerous changes can be found at the bottom of this post.

While it still might not be the greatest game ever made, this update should hopefully make the game much more enjoyable. I’d say it generally puts the combat much more in the player’s favor, but the game was barely playable without grinding stat boosts as it was. The goal wasn’t to completely remake every aspect of the game, as that is EDQR’s job. More on that below.

All that said, if- for some reason- you still wish to play the original 2016 version of the game, the download will remain up for preservation purposes. Really though, I recommend just playing this new version.

(Note: Save files from the original 2016 version will likely cause many issues, so it is recommended to start a fresh save.)

Endoskeleton’s Debauchery Quest: R

Since the Act 1 Demo’s release in April 2017, we’ve made many attempts to revive EDQR over the years but I could never quite keep working on it for more than very short bursts at a time. This time, however, the game has been brought back to life in full and is chugging along in development. Compared to Repolished, EDQR promises to bring a more balanced and proper game experience in line with the official games’ Complete Collection, and tons of major changes and brand new content- as well as bring a proper conclusion to this ten year old story once and for all.

If you’d like to read more about EDQR, head over to the game’s page, as it's been updated with a post detailing what to expect from the remake as well as tons of new screenshots, banners and other improvements to the page.
