(I made this a text devlog since things are a little tight rn time/energy wise)
So far we’ve had Luke the pixel artist, Luke the programmer, Luke the writer, Luke the playtester (along with some others from time to time) and Luke the person who’s talking to you right now!
But now the teams expanding to welcome KimyDraws as the official GUIDANCE concept artist!
She’s an amazing and incredibly underrated artist, and she’s been an absolute joy to work with. Go check her out if you haven’t already!
I also plan to bring one more person onto the team, a supplementary pixel artist.
I’d prefer to contact people myself, rather than accept direct applications, but if you have anyone you’d like to suggest you can.
So, why am I expanding the team? you might ask.
Well, I finally got around to reading through my copy of the Undertale artbook, and was pretty surprised at just how many people ended up being involved in the games development.
Truth be told, while I COULD do everything myself, it would likely take far longer than I would like, and I wouldn’t be able to do everything I wanted.
So I decided to expand a little!
I’ll still be doing the vast majority of- well- everything- but having a little help on the project will take a lot of pressure off, making it easier to get through.
Also, if you were curious, yes, team members are being paid for their work. This is actually the main thing that the creator money is helping me with. (that and buying a notebook with a picture of Maru on it)
That’s not the only announcement I have though, I’ve (finally) made some good progress on the next section of the game. I can’t say too much, but this month is the most actual work on the game I’ve done in a while.
It’s not a lot, but it’s something, and it feels really good.
There’s a lot of things I have planned as well. I’d like to completely re-work the combat system since the current one is pretty tacked on and un-focussed.
Regular equipment won't really be a thing, but I want to focus more on skill scrolls and rework Angel Power.
Now, the next couple months I’m going to be focusing on finishing and releasing Hind Sight 3, so GUIDANCE progress might be a little slower again, but after that I wanna go full-steam ahead for the rest of the year, and I’ll still be making some progress that month.
I just wanted to thank everyone for the support, and @KimberlyPereyra for joining the team.
I’m super excited about what’s in the works, and I hope you have a great day.
That’s about it, I’m out, peace! ^.^
