Game
It's a Cube

I've updated the UI and HUD in It's a Cube! I think the HUD especially looks a lot nicer now, and I'm especially proud of that, but I've also made changes to the main menu. I've also finished the statistics screen I was working on last weekend.

The updated UI can be seen in version 1.5.0:

Changelog:

All versions:

- Overhauled the UI and HUD

- Added player statistics screen showing your high-score and milestones reached (accessable from the main menu)

- Added in-game milestones corresponding with the trophies on the Game Jolt version

- Many technical changes/improvements as always

Game Jolt version only:

- If you reach a new high-score while not signed in, your score in the leaderboard will be updated when you next sign in. This also has the unintentional effect of automatically setting a players high-score in the leaderboard if they switch from the Itch version to the Game Jolt version.

I drew a concept sketch of the beetle enemy based on a real-world species called the grapevine beetle. This enemy will NOT fire bullets at the player but instead moves back and forth in front of other enemies blocking your bullets from hitting them.

I updated the algorithm that handles the timer gradually decreasing as the game progresses! Before, it would decrease by 1 second when the player scored certain amounts, but now it gradually decreases according to a multiplier each round.

Working on getting the itch page for Hensen Hopper set up which means creating a separate cover image for the game on itch (different aspect ratio there). I want to publish that with first beta build of the game so I DO need to get a move on with it.

This week's Fan Art Friday celebrates #CronosNewDawn

Accept the quest in your quest log to get started.

GJ Pro-Tip: Not sure what to make? Check out the game's Steam page for inspo: https://bit.ly/cronos-steam

The new heal-up drop in Hensen Hopper. May not be a cameo of something in one of my earlier games like I may or may not have directly stated I was going to make it in a post I made the other day.

These quests inspired by Inayah - Life After Gods are ending soon!

Complete them while you can! Don't miss out on your chance to get Coins and trophies!

Finally working on the sprite for the beetle enemy!!! I need to get off my computer and do some stuff right now but I thought the idea of posting a headless (I haven't done the head yet) beetle screenshot was hilarious so I'm doing that first lmao.

I'm working on adding full controller support to It's a Cube! I'm also taking the time to update the art for the in-game tutorial page, I'm planning to add a tab for controller too. In the meantime, how does the keyboard tutorial look?

It's kinda incredible how much simply changing the text font(s) will, by itself, complete the aesthetic of a game, especially in the menus.

I love TextMesh Pro so much!
