It's a Cube

I've updated the UI and HUD in It's a Cube! I think the HUD especially looks a lot nicer now, and I'm especially proud of that, but I've also made changes to the main menu. I've also finished the statistics screen I was working on last weekend.

The updated UI can be seen in version 1.5.0:

Changelog:

All versions:

- Overhauled the UI and HUD

- Added player statistics screen showing your high-score and milestones reached (accessable from the main menu)

- Added in-game milestones corresponding with the trophies on the Game Jolt version

- Many technical changes/improvements as always

Game Jolt version only:

- If you reach a new high-score while not signed in, your score in the leaderboard will be updated when you next sign in. This also has the unintentional effect of automatically setting a players high-score in the leaderboard if they switch from the Itch version to the Game Jolt version.

I updated the algorithm that handles the timer gradually decreasing as the game progresses! Before, it would decrease by 1 second when the player scored certain amounts, but now it gradually decreases according to a multiplier each round.

I'm working on adding full controller support to It's a Cube! I'm also taking the time to update the art for the in-game tutorial page, I'm planning to add a tab for controller too. In the meantime, how does the keyboard tutorial look?

I wrote a modular language system! I can now add new entries with definitions in as many languages as I please and all from the inspector window in the Unity editor! This allows me to potentially have Hensen Hopper translated to other languages easily!

The beetle shell is now fully VISUALLY implemented! Next thing on my list is a unique sound for Hensen equipping it.

Mae Borowski is the main character of Night in the Woods! It's an adventure game that tells the story of her return to her hometown of Possum Springs. She was confirmed as canonically pan in a social media post by the game's creator Scott Benson.

This is a much larger (in terms of resolution) video than I've shared here before!!!

This is a full round of Hensen Hopper in it's current state! I mainly recorded this to showcase the new wave difficulty curve algorithm I've been working on!

Four hours in, and my autistic hyperfixation of the year has already spawned. I'm planning on DIY-ing a tensegrity dining table this year thanks to a video by Steve Mould where he showcased a small one. Oh yeah, also, Hensen Hopper, I'll work on that too.

The Knightling launches on August 28! Wishlist it now so you don't miss out: https://bit.ly/KnightlingSteam

To celebrate the game's impending release, we've added The Knightling Pack and The Knightling Community Pack back to the Shop!

My next project! It's still in the early stages of development, but I have a tech demo available for download.
