Backstory for the character, (inspired by the new Ultrakill layer):

Rory opened her eyes.
She wasn't in her bedroom anymore.
Her surroundings were dark and empty.
A black void of nothing.
Until she noticed something.
In a short distance, she could see a tall figure.
It had a spiral on its head, and a wide, big smile.
The figure walked away.
Rory followed it.

The thing arrived at a gate
On the gate was a sign that said:
''The Gardens of neverending punishment''
Rory followed the creature through the gate.

Soon they arrived at a building.
The thing went inside, and so did Rory.
There was text written with blood on the walls:
''For those who took lives, and didn't take their punishment.''
She walked further into the building.
There was a long hallway, with prison cells on the sides.
Inside the cells they could see people, all constantly busy killing other people.
They we're crying, like they didnt want to do this, but they we're being forced to do so.
''Those are murderers'' she heard from behind her.
She quickly turned around.
The tall figure was right behind her.
''They took others death into their own hands, and ran away from their punishments like cowards.
Here they have to face the consequences, being forced to kill the ones they loved the same ways they killed their victims.''
I looked at the crying people once more.
Someone was stabbing a woman to death, while screaming in agony.
He looked in Rory's direction, but didn't seem to notice she was there.
''They can't see us, they're stuck in an illusion where they think what theyre doing is real.
When they're done finishing their loved ones off, the cylce resets and they have to go again like nothing ever happened.''
Rory took one last look at the murderers.
Then they left the building.

They walked through the garden once more, until they reached a lake.
The lake was surrounded by people looking down the water.
Their faces were filled with grief.
Inside of the lake were faces looking back at them.
Just below the edge of the water.
Someone tried to reach into the water, only for the face to dissapear.
''These people tried to resurrect their dead loved ones, because they couldn't handle their grief.
Here they are forced to come to terms with the fact that they're gone, and they will never get to see them again.''
Rory decided to speak back to the creature:
''Is there any way for these people to break from this cycle?'' She asked.
''There is, but it almost never happens. The murderers have to recognize that they deserve their punishment and endure it without showing empathy towards themselves, whilethe ressurectors have to come to terms with the fact that theyre loved once are dead.
There is one more thing i need to show you''
It wandered off again.
And Rory followed.

They arrived at a forest.
Rory and the creature walked through the trees.
Once she took a closer look at the trees, she started to notice that they looked somewhat like humans.
When she got closer to one, she could hear a whisper:
''f-ffree me''
The creature approached from behind once more:
''They tried to cheat their demise, become immortal, because they were scared of what would happen in death.
They rather preferred running away from their end through unnatural means, instead of facing it.
Now they live in the forest forever, as trees.
Forever conscious, and unmoving.''

(I cant finish this text in time, bc i got really ill when i wanted to finish it, but for a summary, basically the thing says he's a spirit of death and that people who mess with death can be a great danger to the balance of life and afterlife, and offers rory to merge together to basically start working as an assasin for the dudes who run the void)
