The 2024 remake of The Thousand-Year Door reconfirmed that Vivian is trans through a scene where she talks about how it took time for her to realize she was her brothers' sister and not their brother.

GLAAD celebrated the remake saying that "by including an authentic and respectful depiction of a trans character in this cherished series, Nintendo has strengthened its reputation in making games for everyone."
