As cringe as the storyboard is from a technical standpoint, it's shots like this one that keep me from disliking it - even if the drawings look bad/distorted, I still like them!
Naturally my drawing has refined quite a bit in the four years since, but I am more or less satisfied with my style. The eye size is non-negotiable, of course, but I have made effort to improve my characters overall posture and proportions (in a way that I think fits the style, yet still anatomically correct to some degree).
When it comes to hands, I really just can't win - there will always be someone griping about the hand no matter how accurate you get them, and to that I wish them best of luck in becoming perfect at it. As long as you can tell what the character is physically doing with their hands, it's good enough for me.
In case you're wondering, the paper-cutout style backgrounds in the game are made with Powerpoint and old photos (sometimes old photos are used as a framework for the Powerpoint cutout version). Given that this game is non-profit/free-to-play and said photos were taken with my camera years ago, I don't think copyright will be that much an issue.
All in all, I am quite satisfied with the visual style of the game, and even if you aren't, I hope you will enjoy the full game!
