So yes, the visual novel will have a system of achievements to be unlocked as you play through its story. There are ten in total.
Though not shown, the first badge is awarded when you complete the story for the first time no matter what choices you make. I won't spoil everything, but I would recommend playing the whole story through at least two times to get all of the badges, as there is a really neat reward involved in achieving that.
As for the actual screen, I wanted to keep it simple enough to emphasize readability, as I find that to be a pillar of any story-based game. As such, I didn't mess with Ren'Py's default beyond changing the font and background to give a simple but stylish look (that and messing with any visual element too much will make the coding work against itself in other places where it was fine before).
I also included hints on how to get each badge. I'm not trying to baby the player too much, but since I am not making the actions needed to win "obvious" in story (I'm NOT labeling choices as their type or make a line of dialogue explicitly saying "this choice matters" - I am requiring the player to use context clues to figure them out), this is a way to keep them from getting stuck for too long. At its core, this game is nothing more than a way to tell a very complex story in a way that lets the reader determine how much they learn. I'm not gonna get ahead of myself, but I do want to make sure you have a reason to play twice.
