I would've made this post 3 months ago, but hey, why not use it to keep the hype train running?

I wouldn't exactly say Puppet Theatre is niche anymore, but I'd still easily say it's underrated. It should be expressed just how amazing of an experience the game is.

In case you don't know what Puppet Theatre is, it's a FNaF Fangame developed by @argon_dev on the Turbowarp engine. The game is set in the 1930s, which is already a fairly unique setting for such a game. It takes place over 8 chapters, with each chapter containing cutscenes, analysis segments, inventive gameplay segments and more. For a FNaF Fangame, that is an expansive amount of content and effort in one package, and for a Turbowarp game, that is a humongous amount.

Puppet Theatre has a soundtrack primarily composed by @OnlinePool and @iffybruh , one which should be considered a masterpiece amongst their works, let alone videogame soundtracks in general. The music is constantly adapted to the environments of the game, genuinely expressing emotions to the player whilst giving off such a powerful vibe.

The game took 3 years to be developed, and evidently so. It has so much passion and effort poured into it, from such a talented team.

A feature that sets this game apart from other FNaF Fangames is its rich storytelling. I always felt invested, I always felt interested, and I was always having a fun time watching the cutscenes and learning more about the characters in this game. Although I beat the game 3 months ago, every moment of the story has stayed in my head, it's unforgettable, and playing through it is unregrettable.

The designs of all the characters are stunning. They all fit the setting perfectly and help to cement the storyline in its time period.

The gameplay is amazing, too. I personally am not a fan of when games make cameras switchable with a dial rather than buttons, and yet Puppet Theatre makes use of this mechanic PERFECTLY. The player must rely on sound to find characters on the building, and lure them to certain parts of the theatre to complete tasks during the night. It's a fun and unique gameplay cycle that feels extremely rewarding and overly satisfying to get right, whilst still providing a good challenge and testing the players' memory and endurance, too.

While I don't want to jump into spoilers, I must say that chapter 8 as a whole is an entire experience in itself. The entire gameplay sequence is energetic, intense and heart-pounding, and the epilogue afterwards is a worthwhile payoff for the players' journey, providing a stellar send off for the game, and for Argon's FNaF Fangame legacy.

I have never played a FNaF Fangame so rich in content and powerful in its storyline and gameplay immersivity. Puppet Theatre is one of, if not the, FNaF Fangames of all time, and one of the best games I have played in my life.

Check it out!
